We had a really fun team-building event here, learning how to make several Japanese dishes. I especially enjoyed learning how to fold gyoza dumplings! I also picked up some great tips about chopping and preparing various ingredients (peeling ginger with a teaspoon will be life-changing!) Our teacher Ian was very patient with us and guided us every step of the way until we sat down to an enjoyable lunch all prepared and cooked by ourselves. And it was great to know that the surplus meals we'd cooked were to be donated to charities.
We recently had the pleasure of attending a Christmas cooking class at the School of Wok. Our festive-themed menu included delicious Turkey, Cranberry & Sage Dumplings, zesty Ginger & Spring Onion Chicken Stir Fry, flavourful Festive Fried Rice, and a heavenly, boozy Christmas Fruit Trifle.
The School of Wok provided an ideal setting for our culinary adventure. The instructor's passion for Asian cuisine was infectious, and their expertise made the cooking process both enjoyable and educational. The step-by-step guidance ensured everyone could create a festive feast to remember.
In the spirit of giving back during the Christmas season, we decided to cook double the amount of food, allowing the School of Wok to send our creations to people in need, spreading the joy of Christmas beyond the kitchen.
Thank you from us all at Kharalis!
Had an incredible morning at School of Wok (SoW) this week with my colleagues, preparing a Japanese lunch! SoW hosted the most fun, interactive workshop where we learned all about ingredients, knife/chopping skills, how to cook etc. The lovely Ian ran out session and he was amazing - friendly, funny, informative, patient. It was the best team building event we could have asked for and I can definitely recommend this to other teams for team building events, as well as groups of friends! Even better, we made double portions - ate half, and gave the other half to local charities :)
I attended 'The School of Wok,' Wednesday 4th October for a 3-hour Vegetarian cookery class, it was an amazing experience, the standard of the whole operation was very satisfactory, we worked in pairs, which was good. The food we prepared were delicious, the fried rice tasted better than the 'take-away version' in fact all the dishes tasted like eating in a top notch Chinese restaurant. At the end of cooking we dined together, table laid professionally as in a restaurant, a choice of chop sticks or cutlery, wine, water soft drinks. I had the best night ever in months, especially since I do not go out as much as I used to. We cooked four dishes:-
Chive & Mushroom Dumplings
Vegetarian Ma Po Tofu
Garlic Fried Rice
Stir Fried Green Beans in Chilli Hoisin
Wonderful night, pleasant dining experience, A massive thank you to the School of Wok Team, for all their efforts in organizing, preparing and giving us an experience to remember. A photo of our dish
Had a fantastic time. Really well organised and taught cooking lesson. I highly recommend it as a lot of fun.
Learnt new skills and ultimately and really positive experience. Staff fantastic :)
A few weeks ago I did the full day take away classics. The day was absolutely brilliant, the setup was great and our host Darwin was fantastic. The school was we'll setup to really focus on specific skills (for example parts of the veg was prepped such as carrots peeled, giving us time to focus on cutting correctly). Since the course I've been able to put several of the dishes into practice with huge success (according to my wife) - would highly recommend!
We went for my boyfriend's birthday and it was amazing, we did the 3 hours Japanese class and we loved it. I would highly recommend it, such a different experience where we learned to cook Gyozas and chicken katsu curry. We will definitely go back. Thanks to our chef Darwin!
Attended the "Full Day Chinese Banquet" and had an absolutely wonderful time. The atmosphere was very friendly which was nice as I attended the class alone. The instructions were very clear and I learnt a lot, would definitely recommend!
